Measurement stack — signup playbook¶
Step-by-step setup for the instrumentation tools the measurement framework requires. Brandon does the account creation (login credentials, payment info); WDM does the integration (token swap, code drop-in) once IDs exist.
Sequence below is ordered by priority × ease. Do them in order; each later one builds on the visibility from the earlier ones.
1. Google Search Console (free · 15 min · highest SEO priority)¶
Why first: free, instant organic-search visibility, validates our structured data, alerts on crawl errors, the foundation for every other SEO decision.
Steps:
- Go to https://search.google.com/search-console
- Sign in with the Google account that owns the domain (or that Brandon wants holding SEO data)
- Click Add property → pick Domain (not URL prefix)
- Enter
superiorwatertruckparts.com - Google shows a DNS TXT record like
google-site-verification=abc123xyz... - Add that TXT record at GoDaddy (where SP's DNS lives, per IT). Takes 5-30 min to propagate.
- Click Verify in Search Console
- Send the verification token to WDM — I'll paste it into the meta tag placeholder on every page as a backup verification path
What you get: crawl-error alerts, indexing status, organic clicks/impressions/position for every keyword, structured-data validation, mobile-usability report, Core Web Vitals dashboard.
Cost: $0. Forever.
2. Microsoft Clarity (free · 5 min · highest UX-debug value)¶
Why second: free session recordings + heatmaps. Best signal for "what's actually frustrating real visitors" without surveys. Microsoft uses it as a loss-leader for Azure AI — no upsell pressure.
Steps:
- Go to https://clarity.microsoft.com
- Sign in with a Microsoft account (or create one)
- Click Create new project
- Project name:
superiorwatertruckparts.com - Website URL:
https://superiorwatertruckparts.com - Clarity gives you a project ID (looks like
abcd1234ef) - Send the project ID to WDM — I paste it into the script tag placeholder; it's live within minutes
What you get: session recordings of real visitors (rage clicks, dead clicks, scroll patterns), heatmaps per page, funnel analysis, no data sampling.
Cost: $0. Forever. No row limits, no session limits.
3. Google Analytics 4 (free · 30 min · primary conversion tracking)¶
Why third: the canonical web analytics tool. Defines our funnel, our events, our conversions. Without it we're flying blind on which sources drive revenue.
Steps:
- Go to https://analytics.google.com
- Sign in with the same Google account as Search Console
- Click Admin (bottom-left) → Create property
- Property name:
Superior Water Truck Parts - Time zone: Phoenix (US Mountain Standard Time, no DST)
- Currency: USD
- Industry: Automotive
- Business size: Small (1-10 employees)
- Business objectives: tick "Generate leads" and "Drive online sales"
- Click Create
- Pick Web as the platform → enter
https://superiorwatertruckparts.com - GA4 gives you a measurement ID:
G-XXXXXXXXXX(10 chars after the G-) - Send the measurement ID to WDM
What you get: sessions, users, events, conversion goals, ecommerce revenue (when checkout goes live), audience segments, attribution paths.
Cost: $0.
Note: I'll define 8-10 standard events for SP at integration time:
- view_item (product page viewed)
- add_to_cart
- begin_checkout (when checkout exists)
- purchase (when checkout exists)
- generate_lead (quote form submit)
- phone_click (tel: link click)
- search (search bar used)
- view_search_results
- select_promotion (build-kit homepage banner click)
- view_promotion
4. CallRail (paid · 1 hr · critical for SP)¶
Why fourth: phone calls are SP's dominant conversion path right now (no checkout flow yet). Without dynamic number insertion, we can't tell which page drove each call. We're guessing.
Steps:
- Go to https://www.callrail.com
- Sign up — pick the Call Tracking plan (~$45-95/mo depending on number count)
- Verify your billing email
- Choose 4 tracking numbers (CallRail provides them, all forward to your real (602) 437-3980):
- Number A — Organic search (visitors from Google search)
- Number B — Direct/typed (visitors who type the URL or bookmark)
- Number C — Build-kit page (visitors who land on
/parts/build-kits/) - Number D — Buying guide (visitors who land on a
/guides/*page) - Configure swap rules in CallRail dashboard (it has a wizard):
- "Replace (602) 437-3980 with [Number A] when source contains 'google.com'"
- "Replace (602) 437-3980 with [Number C] when current URL contains '/build-kits/'"
- etc.
- CallRail gives you a JS snippet to install
- Send the JS snippet to WDM — I install it once site-wide; the swap logic runs in CallRail (no code changes per page)
What you get: per-call attribution to source/medium/page. Caller phone number, call duration, recording (optional), and which page on the site they were on when they clicked the number.
Cost: ~$45-95/mo depending on tracking number count.
Hard rule: install BEFORE shipping any of the audit's Top 10 changes (it's already too late for trust strip + sticky CTA — we shipped those — but install before measuring their impact).
5. Yotpo or Trustpilot (paid · 4 hr setup + outreach · highest CRO impact)¶
Why fifth: reviews have the highest single-lever CRO impact in heavy-equipment ecommerce (+35-55% add-to-cart rate per Baymard). But they require real customer outreach to seed, which is the slowest piece.
Two-step process:
Part A — pick a platform¶
| Trustpilot | Yotpo Lite | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | $250/mo (Business) | $19-79/mo |
| Brand recognition | Very high | Moderate |
| Heavy-equipment fit | Generic | Better — has Shopify-style "review at" widget |
| Best for | Building Trust Score for SEO | Quick start, on-page review collection |
My recommendation: Yotpo Lite at $19/mo to start. Upgrade or migrate to Trustpilot in 6 months if review volume justifies it.
Sign up at https://www.yotpo.com → pick Lite → enter superiorwatertruckparts.com.
Part B — seed the first 20 reviews¶
Without 20+ reviews the widget looks barren and hurts more than it helps. Plan:
- Pull customer list from QB — last 12 months of paid invoices, sort by total spend, take top 30
- Andrea (or whoever handles sales follow-up) calls or emails each one using this template:
Subject: Quick favor — review for Superior Water Truck Parts?
Hi [first name],
[Andrea / Brandon] here at Superior Water Truck Parts. You bought a
[product / build] from us in [month], and I'm reaching out to ask
a 60-second favor.
We just launched a refreshed parts catalog at superiorwatertruckparts.com
and we're asking our best customers to leave a quick written review.
It helps other fleet operators find us, and it tells Google we're
the real deal.
Would you mind dropping 1-2 sentences? Could be as short as "Bought
a B3Z pump in March, was at the yard before noon, works great."
Here's the link: [Yotpo review URL]
Thanks for the business —
[Name]
Superior Water Truck Parts
(602) 437-3980
- Target: 20 reviews collected in the first 14 days. Realistic conversion rate on a personal-outreach review request is 25-40%, so 30 reach-outs gets ~9-12 reviews. May need to round 2.
- Once 20 are live, install the widget on all product pages
Cost: ~$19-79/mo for Yotpo + ~6 hours of outreach time.
6. Bing Webmaster Tools (free · 5 min · low priority but free coverage)¶
Steps:
- Go to https://www.bing.com/webmasters
- Sign in with the same Microsoft account as Clarity
- Add
https://superiorwatertruckparts.com - Verify via meta tag (give token to WDM) or import from Search Console (instant if GSC is done first)
What you get: ~5-8% of search traffic in the US comes from Bing. Free coverage worth claiming.
Cost: $0.
Sequence summary (recommended order for Brandon's calendar)¶

What WDM needs from Brandon to flip the switch¶
A short message with all five values:
GSC verification token: [paste]
GA4 measurement ID: G-XXXXXXXXXX
Clarity project ID: [paste]
Bing token: [paste]
CallRail JS snippet: [paste]
I have a one-shot script (_apply_analytics_tokens.py) staged in D:\claude_www\projects\website_design_manager\swtp-products\ that takes these five values and swaps them into all 66 page templates + the generators in under 30 seconds. No regeneration of content needed — pure metadata + script-tag swap.
Once flipped, every page is reporting to the full measurement stack within minutes. Baselines start counting.
