Entity page format

Updated
2026-06-06

SUPERSEDED 2026-07-08

This format is superseded by the Lender & Underwriter Writing Standard (Brandon, 2026-07-08). Entity pages now follow that skeleton — At a Glance, key-fact cards, Strengths, Risks & How We Manage Them, collapsed drill-downs. This page is retained as history.

Every entity page in entities/ follows the same section order. The shared format keeps reading the eleven entity pages predictable — anyone landing on a new entity knows where to find the financial flow, the risks, the legal & tax detail, without scanning.

The standard sections

Each entity page covers, in this order:

  1. Snapshot — one-line model summary in a blockquote
  2. What this is — short narrative
  3. How money flows — revenue mechanic, cost structure, margin lever
  4. Inputs / outputs — relationships with other entities in the family
  5. Customers + channels — who buys, how they reach the entity
  6. Key metrics — what to watch on the per-entity dashboard
  7. Risks — what breaks the model
  8. Operational status — currently operating vs setup in progress
  9. Financial data pipeline — QB file + qb-bridge wiring
  10. Legal & tax — legal name, entity type, state of inc, owner + tax-treatment angles for CPA review
  11. Related strategy docs — cross-links

Conventions

  • Snapshot must be one sentence. Detail goes lower on the page, not packed into the snapshot.
  • Disputed facts link to the relevant entry in parked_questions_for_mcatg.md rather than guessing.
  • Legal & tax uses the same <dl class="page-meta"> styling as the top-of-page metadata block and is the drill-down destination for legal-structure detail (per the concise-first / drill-down principle — legal name lives here, not on the entities-hub card).
  • Long detail (heavy ASCII charts, exhaustive cost-line breakdowns) goes inside collapsed ??? abstract "Label" blocks so the page stays scannable in the left-sidebar TOC.
